Crowds of people spent New Year's Day at a "meditation labyrinth" on Moonlight Beach in Encinitas created by artist Kirk Van Allyn using 200 pounds of rock salt and thousands of beach rocks."As you walk along, your mind gets to thinking, Where am I along the path of life?" Van Allyn said.
